To figure out your Personal Year for 2013, take your Sun Number (your birth month and date added, then reduced to a single digit), then add 6 (for the year 2013), and reduce the sum to a final single digit. For instance, if your Sun Number is 2, add 6 to that and you are in an 8 Personal year. If your Sun Number is 8, add 6 to that and you get 14, then reduce that further and you are in a 5 Personal Year (because 14 = 1 + 4 = 5).
